6 Nursing Tik Toks You Need to Follow STAT!
Let’s be honest, if you’re Filipino, you either ARE a nurse, you know a nurse, or you have been told by your family that you should pursue a career to be a nurse. It’s no secret that nurses are the #1 export from the Philippines. Regardless of your connection to nursing, a few nursing pages on Tik Tok have been gaining a following through humor, information, or both, and you should follow them too! So let’s take a look at the heartbeat of nursing Tik Tok with 6 Nursing Tik Toks You Need to Follow ASAP.
@nurse.johnn
Nurse John is probably the most popular nursing TikTok on this list and for good reason, he is hilarious! With over 5.5M followers, Nurse John is a content-creating genius, he covers multiple areas of nursing but primarily hits close to home with Filipino nurses, like what baon they bring, how family members interact, and the type of sass that Filipino nurses (specifically) bring to the workplace. But for me after giving a deep dive into Nurse John’s TikTok, I appreciate the insight he gives on his podcast on how to be successful as a content creator, to genuinely be yourself, and to have fun. I think most followers can see that joy and are invited to have fun with Nurse John regardless if whether you’re in the nursing field or not.

Search for “Filipino nurse humor” on Tik Tok and Nurse Mark will be one of your top hits. Nurse Mark is a specialist at capturing Filipino personality in the workplace, specifically, what makes a “seasoned Filipina nurse” different in the hospital. You’ll also see other contrasting personalities like California RNs vs. Other RNs, or New Grad vs. Seasoned RN, the laughs can resonate with so many different personalities. With over 400k likes, you should head over to Nurse Mark’s page to see if you too have experienced the difference between a seasoned Filipina nurse or not!
@jays__days
Still Filipino and still within nursing humor, Nurse Jay has over 1.8M likes on TikTok although his content is not specifically targeted to the Filipino demographic. Nonetheless, his clever content has brought 36.6k followers who keep coming back for all the laughs. He uses the personality of TikTok filters and soundbites to help drive home his punchlines. Even for someone like myself not in the nursing field, I found myself entertained and laughing out loud at a lot of his content.

Have you been considering getting into the world of lip filler, botox, microneedling, but you don’t know where to start? Then you should give Nurse Ashley a follow! She is a talented injector who works at The Things We Do (also Filipina owned) who is using her years of experience to educate the Tik Tok community of the do’s and don'ts for upcoming aesthetic trends that you might have seen pop up on social media. Is that safe for my skin? What are the benefits of certain treatments? Nurse Ashely is here to help! Just check out this video with over 20k views about her views on the harmful side effects of patients who use hyaluronic pens.

Alright, I know this isn't a nursing page but hear me out, if you are reading this and you’re over the age of 30 and/or have aches and pains just from sleeping in the wrong position, then this is the page for you! Dr. Jaymee gives you her professional tips and quick fixes to address any mobility or muscle pain that might be causing you discomfort in your day to day. If an apple a day keeps the doctor away, then Dr. Jaymee has a mobility routine to help keep the lower back pain away after a night at the club.

Okay, I know this one IS a nursing page but the Tik Toker ISN’T Filipino! That’s not important for this part of the blog, what is important, is that I know we also might have readers pursuing nursing who could use some help studying for the NCLEX. I remember how hard my wife had to study to pass her exams and I was hoping to find an NCLEX help page on Tik Tok that could have some pointers for you (Maybe we need a Filam to start a page for this!). Nurse Stephanee Beggs, really knows her stuff, with almost 1M followers, 14.7M likes, and has even been recognized by Forbes Under 30 Class of 23, she can help you with mnemonics, memory tricks, and more. So instead of scrolling on Tik Tok for trending dances, use that time to equip yourself with all the tools necessary to pass your exam! Bahala ka sa buhay mo!
Going through this list was a lot of fun reliving my wife’s nursing school days or hearing my own Auntie’s expressions from Nurse John or Nurse Jay. Truthfully, a lot of this information was so entertaining that it also reminded me how vast and difficult it is to be a nurse and furthered the respect that I have for our nurses on the front lines.
