Top 5 Work From Home Side Hustles to Make Extra Cash

Who wouldn’t mind a little extra cash in their pockets to pay off debt faster, spontaneous Target runs, more dinners at Jollibee, or to pay for inflated gas? I know I wouldn’t mind it! If you need extra money, like now, you’ve come to the right place. However, this isn’t your basic, drive UBER or Lyft, drop off meals or even fill out random surveys…which are very valid and real ways to make cash. This list is a mix of personal skill and owned spaces. If you have specific skills (which we all know premium skills run in our Filipino blood), chances are it’s unique and people will pay for it! If you have the space, why not let others use it? With minimal sweat equity, here are my Top 5 creative ways to add cash into your wallets!

1. Use Your Voice!

The employment of voice over artists is expected to grow faster than average over the next decade. As technology continues to advance, more types of media will be produced and distributed online. This will increase demand for voice over artists to narrate online videos and explain “how-to” information in audio form. I mean, who doesn’t enjoy listening to their audiobook while driving, cleaning or waiting in line? Someone has to do that job, why not you?

Remember: Voice over artists are not the same as Voice Actors and is way easier to break into as a side hustle. You can even offer your “VO” services, even without prior experience on platforms like Fiverr with as little as a quick demo.

Median Annual Salary: $72,500 ($34.86/hour)

Top 10% Annual Salary: $145,000 ($69.71/hour)

2. Use Your Mobile Phone Camera

Make extra money using the pictures you are already taking. Turn your photos into cash with the Foap app. When a brand, agency or just anyone who finds your work outstanding purchases a video or photo from your online Foap portfolio, they share the profit with you 50/50. Customers pay $10 for an image and a license, Foap will split it with you. Imagine people buying your photo 20 times? That’s a quick $100 in your pocket. You can also make more money by joining Foap missions. Each mission pays a prize for the winning image, starting at $50. Not bad at all! It’s time to make extra income with your videos and photos. Finally, your foodie pics can finally get the attention it deserves!

3. Do You Have a Swimming Pool?

According to the latest statistics, the United States can boast 10.4 million residential swimming pools. Considering that there are 128.58 million households in the US, it’s easy to calculate that a bit over 8% of them have a swimming pool (LiveAbout). That is about one pool for every 33 people! AND who doesn’t like a good swimming party? With Swimply you can let people rent out your pool for a couple hours. Amazing! While researching costs, the average hourly rental fee is about $125 an hour in Los Angeles; the rental cost goes up with more guests. Swimply also covers insurance with $1,000,000 liability and $10,000 in property damage protection. I’m really excited about this one! I just signed myself up and I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences with it.

4. Do You Have Space in your Home to Host a Party or film a video?

This is by far my most favorite way to earn extra cash. I started in 2020, took a pause due to the pandemic but started right back up when the world opened up again! So far so good, I racked in about $2k a month renting out a cafe I used to own. There are about a handful of platforms you can use, however, my choice is Peerspace.com.

If you love your space, you control how you share it. Open your doors to meetings during the week, dinners at night, or just film shoots on the weekends – whatever works best for you! The Peerspace Host Insurance Policy provides coverage for general liability claims up to $1 million. Easy peasy!

5. Become a Neighbor Host

The easiest way to make money from home by storing vehicles and belongings and it’s free to list your space. I haven’t tried this one, however there are really great reviews on it. You can rent out any storage space, no matter what size. List only a portion of your space or entire rooms on Neighbor. You control when and how your neighbors use your space! My research shows the rental costs vary from $20 to $500 a month in Los Angeles, depending on how big the space is. If you have the extra space, why not?

If the above was helpful or you decide to try any of these, please share your experiences with us. I’d love to hear from you and see how you’re doing with it. I’ll definitely continue to share mine too! Also, if you need any help starting, feel free to reach out; we are always happy to help!
