SF’s Largest Filipino Creative Market Returns in its 6th Year As a Theme Park Inspired Daytime Festival

In the Bay Area and looking for a way to celebrate Filipino American Heritage Month? Checkout UNDISCOVERED (UNDSCVRD) SF’s Filipino creative market on October 22nd, 2022 from 12-6pm!

 

Imagining what a Filipino-American theme park would look like, UNDSCVRD’s founders Kultivate Labs and Make It Mariko, are back for its sixth season at San Francisco’s Filipino Cultural Heritage District - SOMA Pilipinas. What started as a night market, has now turned into a daytime festival with more venues, more vendors, and more performers. Whether you’re looking to support Filipino-owned businesses or just eat some amazing Filipino food, UNDSCVRD has it all. Featuring notable Filipino-American guests, DJ Miles Medina, Chef Harold Villarosa, Franboogie and OneVo1ce.

 

Located at The Parks at 5M, there are several venues that allow festival goers to immerse in Filipino culture. Watch amazing performances at the main stage by artists such as Adrian Marcel and Kita Mahal. Enjoy something sweet and savory from vendors like Senor Sisig and Marley’s Treats along Natoma St. Experience Balay Kreative’s visual art exhibitions at the CAST building. Walk around the healing space of Kapwa Gardens after checking out the many retail vendors at Minna Tunnel like our KH fam In Her Purpose and Malaya Botanicals. This free, all-ages event is a great way to spend time with your kapamilya while celebrating Filipino culture and exploring SOMA Pilipinas.

UNDSCVRD is a project from Kultivate Labs, that not only spotlights Filipino Americans during Filipino American Heritage Month, but is aimed at spreading awareness of SOMA Pilipinas, as well as jump-starting the economic activity of it. Kultivate Labs is a non-profit focusing on economic development and the arts, having created projects such as UNDSCVRD, Kapwa Gardens, and Balay Kreative. The mission of Kultivate Labs is to build a commercial ecosystem that is conscious of culture and community for those in San Francisco.
